About Us

Urban Hope Community Development Corporation was founded by Jerome Edmondson, successful author, entrepreneur and senior partner of Edmondson Associates Entrepreneur Development Network and one of the most decorated defensive end players in the National Football League, the late Reggie White. In 2004, Urban Hope was reestablished through the vision of Bishop Eddie Long, Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church to help first-time homebuyers to achieve the dream of Homeownership, from which the organization developed the Urban Hope Homeownership Center.

Since its start, Urban Hope has grown to include affordable housing initiatives, community based micro-enterprise, and job development. The housing programs include: Homebuyer Membership club, housing counseling, financial fitness, down payment assistance, rehab and new construction. The micro-enterprise development classes teach the skills and knowledge needed to start your own business: business plan development, marketing knowledge and presentation skills.
